PREPARATIONS: 1. How much do you need? First you will need to decide on the area that you want to sod. Once that is decided, you will need to measure that area. Special Note: If you are planning to have us install the grass for you, then it is required that we come out and measure the site ourselves. For those that want to independently install their own grass and don't want to take advantage of our free measuring offer, measuring the area is just a matter of simple math. Use any of the following formulas to match your area's layout. Take a tape measure or measuring tool and measure the parameters of the sod area. It may be helpful to sketch your lawn area and to write down the actual measurements as you go. This will help make sure all areas are accounted for. For calculating square footage, use the formulas on this page. As a rule of thumb, it is wise to add up to 5% to compensate for measuring and estimation errors**. When contacting us, give us these measurements and we can tell you how much sod you are going to need.
2. Preparing the ground. Remove old grass if necessary. Be sure to remove any rocks, weeds and other
debris. Add soil amendments and retool to a depth of 4 to 6
inches. * Measurements made by M & M Turf Farms representatives are deemed to be accurate, therefore any over or underestimates will be the seller's responsibility. ** M & M Turf Farms will not be held responsible for customer measurement or estimation errors (over or under.) When ordering grass, the assumption is made that the customer measurements and estimations are correct.
